Volunteer Appreciation and the Wildcat Roar!

As volunteers we spend the hours helping others for just that reason, to help make a difference in the lives of our students, teachers and school community.  We do not expect anything in return, we do not want a fuss to be made about us, we just want to give our time quietly and go home with the joy of knowing we accomplished something positive.

However, once a year, as a Nation, we celebrate everyone who has given freely of themselves in an act of kindness and generosity towards others.  Next week, April 22-26, is Volunteer Appreciation Week, and is the time that we get to celebrate you and everything that you bring into our community.

Whether you volunteer on a weekly basis or have only helped out once all year we want to say Thank You!  Each person who has given even the smallest amount of their time has done something fantastic for our students.

To honor our amazing Wascher volunteers we would like to invite everyone to a special Volunteer Appreciation Dessert on Wednesday April 24th from 7:00-8:00 PM in the Wascher Library.

We hope to see each and every on of you there.

Lafayette’s July 4th Parade Blog

usflag1The Lafayette’s July 4th Parade Planning Team has just started a blog and would love to get the word out about it to our local community.  Not only will the blog have the full details for this year’s July 4th event, but this is also a place where they will be sharing ideas for how to weave fun American history lessons into every day life so our children can learn about our nation’s heritage.

As we get closer to July 4th, they will be sharing ideas, links, resources, and local July 4th history that will hopefully inspire families as they prepare for our nation’s birthday!

There is already some great information available on their site. Head on over and check it out for yourself at http://lafayettejuly4th.blogspot.com
